Jaeger LeCoultre Grande Reverso Calendar
The Jaeger LeCoultre Grande Reverso Calendar features a stainless-steel case, a black alligator leather strap, a fixed stainless-steel bezel, silver dial, and royal blue hands. The hour markers are Arabic numerals while there are minute markers around an inner ring. The day and month display under the 12 o’clock position while there is a combined date and moon phase sub-dial located above the 6 o’clock position.
This wristwatch makes use of a manual wind movement with a large 45-hour power reserve. Unlike some of our other picks, this luxury watch is rectangular in shape (29.9mm x 41.6mm) and a case thickness of 10.45mm. Now, there’s nothing really ornate about this timepiece and it is also not really that rugged or boasting machoism. However, it is definitely a classic and is rather professional, and can be a timepiece that is associated with success and respectability. Unlike some of our other picks, there’s not a lot going on in the dial which makes reading the time easy.
Cartier Drive De Cartier Moonphase
The Cartier Drive De Cartier Moonphase timepiece features a 40mm x 41 mm slightly round case that is either built from steel or 18k pink gold. The sapphire crystal face is scratch-proof. The guilloche dial features two dark blue steel hands with classic Roman numerals and a moon phase sub-dial. The timepiece makes use of an automatic movement and has a respectable 48-hour power reserve.
The strap is composed of semi-matte brown alligator leather. This is 12.15 mm thick so it’s not going to fit well under the cuff. The timepiece does make use of the in-house movement 1904-LU which only requires adjustment every 125 years – definitely something you’ll leave to your grandson if taken well care of. This timepiece is perfect for someone who is looking for a dress watch that’s both masculine and refined.
Montblanc Heritage Spirit Moonphase
The Montblanc Heritage Spirit Moonphase features a stainless-steel case, stainless steel bracelet, and a fixed stainless-steel bezel. It also has a silver dial where you can see rose gold-plated hands and hour markers. The timepiece uses the MontBlanc caliber MB 29.14 automatic movement with a respectable 42-hour power reserve. The skeleton case back allows you to see the intricate workings and mechanisms of the timepiece.
The case is 43mm wide and 10.44mm thick. The moon phase sub-dial also has a date feature. This is an exemplary dress watch. The clean dial and the rose-gold hands and markers give this watch an understated fashionique style. However, some may not like the lack of a second hand.
Omega Men’s 3573.50.00 Speedmaster Professional Mechanical Chronograph
The Omega Men’s 3573.50.00 Speedmaster Professional Mechanical Chronograph timepiece uses an Omega 1863 Caliber Swiss mechanical-hand-wind movement with a respectable 48-hour power reserve. The sapphire crystal is scratch-resistant with anti-reflective treatment. The stainless-steel case has a diameter of 42 mm and a thickness of 14.3mm. The black dial definitely makes the luminous hands and stick hour markers stand out even more profoundly. The timepiece also has a stainless-steel bracelet, a skeletal case back, and a fixed black ion-plated bezel with a tachometer.
The chronograph has three sub-dials – 60 seconds, 30 minutes, and 12 hours. Like the Rolex Submariner, this is a timeless classic that has an iconic design. It is a timepiece that has its place in history; it’s been used in six lunar explorations. The only drawback is that Omega has since changed the hesalite crystal that was used in the original design. While the sapphire crystal is scratch-resistant, it can shatter upon strong impact.
Tudor Heritage Black Bay Automatic
As the sister brand of Rolex, it is no surprise that the Tudor Heritage Black Bay Automatic Men’s Watch 79230N-BKSS looks a bit similar to a Rolex. In fact, this timepieces design was based on the Submariner which is probably why this luxury watch is so popular. The case is stainless steel with these dimensions: 41 x 50 x 14.88mm.
Obviously, this is a pretty tall timepiece that definitely won’t fit under the sleeve of a dress shirt so using this on semi-formal occasions may be out. The finishing is exceptional. The 60-click, uni-directional bezel reminds us of the classic Submariner though it isn’t easy to turn. One thing that does stand out for this watch is the chronometer rating; it is COSC certified. That degree of accuracy is certainly nothing to scoff at.
